We get this question more than almost any other: "I've always wanted to try RV camping, but I don't own an RV — can I still do it?" The answer is yes, and it might be easier than you think.
At Camp Everyday, we have a fully equipped Outback Ultralite parked on-site and ready for guests. You don't need to drive it, tow it, or figure out hookups. You just show up with your bags and your groceries, and the rest is taken care of. It's RV camping without the RV ownership — and for a lot of first-timers, it's the perfect way to find out whether this kind of trip is for them.
What Exactly Are You Renting?
The Outback Ultralite is a full-size travel trailer with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a door that closes for privacy. The second bedroom has twin bunk beds, which makes it a natural fit for families — kids love the bunks, and parents love having their own space. With six sleeping spots total, there's room for the whole family or a small group of friends.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a stovetop, microwave, and sink, plus enough counter space to actually prepare a meal rather than just reheat something. There's a dining area inside for family meals, and outside you'll find an awning, a seating area, and a fire ring at your site.
Climate control is built in — air conditioning for summer visits and heating for cooler shoulder-season stays. There's a TV with a DVD player, a CD player, and a built-in sound system for evenings when you'd rather stay inside. And yes, there's wireless internet access, so you can stay connected if you need to.
Who Is This For?
Honestly, the RV rental works for a wider range of people than you might expect. We see a lot of families with young kids who want to camp but also want a real bathroom and a kitchen that isn't a camp stove. We see couples looking for a weekend away that feels different from a hotel. We see grandparents bringing grandchildren for their first camping experience and wanting a comfortable home base.
If you've ever thought about RV camping but felt overwhelmed by the logistics — buying or renting a camper, learning to tow, finding a dump station, figuring out electrical hookups — this skips all of that. The RV is already set up. You walk in and start your vacation.
What's Included (and What to Bring)
The RV comes with bedding, kitchen essentials, and all the amenities listed above. You also get full access to everything at Camp Everyday — the swimming pool, clean restrooms and showers, laundry facilities, the camp store, Wi-Fi, and any scheduled events or activities happening during your stay.
What you need to bring is simple:
- Food and drinks (the kitchen is ready, but the fridge starts empty)
- Clothes and personal items
- Any special items for kids (favorite toys, car seats for the drive in)
- A sense of adventure
That's genuinely it. We've had guests show up thinking they needed to bring towels, cookware, or firewood, and they didn't. Everything is provided.
What Does It Cost?
Rates start at $125 per night with a two-night minimum stay. Rates may vary by season, but the pricing is straightforward — no hidden fees for using the pool or the showers or the Wi-Fi. All of that is included.
For context, a comparable hotel room in the Winona area won't give you two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a fire ring outside your door. The value is strong, especially for families.
A Few Things First-Timers Should Know
The RV is stationary — you're not driving it anywhere. Think of it more like a very well-equipped cabin that happens to be a camper. Your car parks right at your site, so you can easily drive into Winona for groceries or explore the area.
The campground is nestled in the bluffs of the Mississippi River Valley, which means the scenery is genuinely beautiful. Morning coffee on the step of the RV with the bluffs in the background is one of those small moments that guests mention again and again.
If you have questions about pets, give us a call — pets are welcome throughout the campground at no extra charge, but we ask that you check with us about the RV specifically.
Why Rent Instead of Buy?
RV ownership is wonderful for people who camp frequently, but it comes with real costs — purchase price, insurance, storage, maintenance, winterization. Renting lets you experience the lifestyle first. A weekend in our Outback Ultralite will tell you more about whether RV camping is your thing than any amount of YouTube research.
And if you decide it's not for you? You had a great weekend in the bluffs, and you didn't buy a $30,000 camper to find out.
Ready to Try It?
The RV books up faster than you might expect, especially on summer weekends and during our event weekends. If a particular date matters to you, booking early is worth it. Check availability on our booking page and lock in your dates — we'll have everything ready when you arrive.
